Nearly 225,000 foreclosure filings, loan default notices, auction sale notices and bank repossessions were reported in October 2007. That is an increase of almost 95% from the same time in 2006.
More than 2% of Florida households entered some form of the foreclosure process in 2007.
In October 2007, the national foreclosure rate was 1 foreclosure for every 555 households.
